materials:
set of US 1 (2.25 mm) double-pointed needles [DPNs]
US B (2.25 mm) crochet hook
tapestry needle
scissors
5 g fingering-weight yarn
polyester fiberfil or similar
black embroidery thread or similar
stitch marker (optional)

adult pig instructions:
cast on 6 stitches across three DPNs; place stitch marker if desired
row 1: *kfb* (12 stitches)
row 2: knit 1 round
row 3: *knit 1, kfb* around (18 stitches)
row 4: knit 1 round
row 5: *knit 2, kfb* around (24 stitches)
row 6-13: knit
row 14: *knit 2, k2tog* around (18 stitches)
row 15: knit 1 round
row 16: *knit 1, k2tog* five times, knit 1 (13 stitches)
row 17-18: knit
stuff the piece to desired firmness
row 19: *k2tog* six times, knit 1 (7 stitches)

remove stitch marker if needed; cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail
sew yarn through seven stitches with tapestry needle twice, pull tight
pass needle through body from snout to rump to create tail; tie knot approximately 1/4 inch from rump, cut excess yarn

ears (make two)
cast on 4 stitches on one DPN
row 1: purl
row 2: knit
row 3: purl
row 4: ssk, k2tog

cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail
sew yarn through two remaining stitches with tapestry needle twice, tie knot and weave in end
sew ears to body in desired location using whip stitch

legs (make two)
single crochet 12 stitches, cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail
pass leg through body horizontally near end of increases (rear leg) and beginning of decreases (front leg), with approximately six stitches between point of entry and exit
tie knot and weave in ends

eyes
embroider eyes onto body in desired location using black thread

row 1: *kfb* (12 stitches)
row 2: *knit 1, kfb* around (18 stitches)
row 3-9: knit
