now, if you happen to be one of these people and you've come to catch up on disorderly twinings content, you may be in for a mild surprise. after several entries about xmas knitting deadlines and socks, what would you expect me to report having worked on after a weekend's worth of knitting time? socks, right?
this is most definitely not socks. i can explain.
like any origin story, this one starts with my mom: she and i share an interest in crafty things and as such get together every other week to work on projects. this week was to be such a craft night, and i had every intention of putting in some solid time on peppermint bark then in order to approach the afterthought heel row.
in the meantime i was looking for a simple, mindless knit that could entertain me while reading a book. my only current project that doesn't involve patterning or the like is lightly caffeinated, and it requires sleeves before i can call it done (and finally wear it!).
after the initial two rounds of picking up stitches and getting started in the round, the first sleeve progressed rather nicely (i've even managed one decrease already). though it's annoying to have such a large swath of fabric twisting in my lap every round, i could see myself finishing this sweater before "deep fall" creeps its gentle way into florida's usual heat and humidity.
after the socks, that is. of course.
