right, so last update was a proper cop-out, nearly devoid of any explanation of what i've been doing for the past month. clearly a chain of low-quality ipad photos is enough to satiate any reader's hunger for actual content. clearly.
truth is, there is no grand reason for my absence; i simply didn't feel like blogging. i suppose i might point out that my camera was lost during a recent anime con and ipad photos simply aren't the same, but that's not quite it. i might blame things on my lack of interesting yarncrafting progress, but we all know i've blogged about less exciting things than a few inches of the same stitch pattern. i might even try to claim that i've been busy with other pressing life issues, but who would i be kidding? it's florida in the height of summer--you hole up in the nearest air-conditioned room, wait for fall and, y'know, play with yarn.
but now that august is nearly here i suddenly feel motivated again, so here's the rundown of july's happenings:
dyed a range of colors with kool-aid and created some cute amigurumis for friends
a very basic pattern for these guys is available, too, if anybody's interested in making a fandom army of their own.
used up a decent portion of older kool-aid dyed yarn via teaching people to crochet, giving it to interested parties, and making a new underwater friend
cast on a delicate, beaded shawl that is actually appropriate for the weather
oh, and i actually finished knitting slice of bermuda
i have yet to block it or wear it (three weeks and counting? four?), but it's still beautiful.
hopefully in the next week or so i'll find myself increasingly motivated to craft on, take pictures, and blog. who knows what else i might have forgotten to mention in the interim?
